An Ely van hire firm is celebrating two years in business with its 5,000th rental.

Jolly Good Van Hire, in Angel Drove, celebrated the milestone by presenting a bottle of champagne to staff at Display Graphics for being the customer to book its 5,000th hire, when they rented a van to drive to Paris.

Owner Phil Hunter said: “When we started the business, I delivered flyers to business all around Ely and the day after dropping it off, Peter from Display Graphics came in to hire a van and has been coming back to us ever since,”

“It was actually really nice that our 5,000th rental went to one of our regular, long-time customers.”

Peter Hazlewood, owner of Display Graphics, said: “The vehicles are all virtually brand new, spotlessly clean and well maintained and the customer service and support from Phil and his team is just fantastic.

“They really do go above and beyond what you would expect from a vehicle rentals company, which is why we have come back time and time again.”

Prior to starting Jolly Good Van Hire, Mr Hunter worked for Barclay’s Bank and prior to that was in the Army.
