EARTH meeting will discuss making more of leisure time
LEADING Ely charity EARTH is holding its annual meeting on June 28.
The event, the fifth to be organised by the group, will take place at the Larkfield Day Centre in High Barns at 2pm.
The public meeting will involve less than 30 minutes of legal business followed by a talk on leisure by East Cambridgeshire District Council deputy chief executive Cecilia Tredget.
She will talk about making more of leisure time and helping to build sustainable communities.
Simple refreshments will be served and there will be a chance to buy plants and visit the polygreenhouse.

EARTH is a horticultural project run on the Larkfield Centre site which gives adults with learning difficulties and young offenders the chance to gain skills through training and work experience.
New store is acquired
LEADING businessman Jonathan James has added another business to his portfolio after buying a Norfolk supermarket.
Jonathan, who owns Budgens store in Soham, the BP service station on Witchford Road, Ely and a service station in Chatteris, has bought a Budgens supermarket in Dersingham.
The 7,000 square feet store employs 34 staff making a total of 140 staff working for his two companies, garage business, James Graven and Son, established in 1860, and supermarket business, James Retail.
Mr James plans to invest money in his new supermarket over the next two years, giving some sections a face-lift.
Chance to showcase products
BUSINESSES from Ely will be showcasing their products and services at a business exhibition organised by the Ely Chamber of Commerce.
The event, which will be officially opened by Cllr Ron Bradney, will take place at the Soham Lodge Hotel on May 16.
The chamber's chief executive John Bridge, said: "The Ely Chamber of Commerce is keen to create new and effective ways for local businesses to promote themselves, and this will be an excellent way for companies to raise their profile and maximise exposure."

Business seminar
