WR Parr are cabinet makers and antique restorers and were established in 1928 by Walter Royal Parr at Thompson's Lane, in Cambridge.

Now based in Isleham, the company is run by Ian Willis and Gill Miller with two full-time staff restorers, Alison Marsh and Bill Bates, and continues the traditional methods of restoration started by the Parr family.

Ian started work for Walter's son, Roy, in 1976. He said: "Today, most of our work comes from private customers and the Cambridge colleges.

"Together, we have a wealth of experience and can offer marquetry, turning, upholstery, veneering, carving and French polishing.

"We have recently restored a writing desk that belonged to William Wilberforce - it is now on display at Peckover House, in Wisbech."

The staff at WR Parr's pride themselves on the individual service and attention they can give to their valued customers.

They are able to restore clocks and have a clockmaker who regularly visits the workshop to help with repairs.

"We are happy to come out and make house calls and will give free estimates and advice. There is also a free collection and delivery service," Ian said.
