AN old-fashioned sweet shop has opened its doors in Ely this week.
St Mary’s Sweets welcomed its first customers on Saturday and its array of liquorice, bon bons, humbugs and toffees have already caused a stir.
The shop, in St Mary’s Street, is being run by David Field and Kinge Miclos.
The shop’s grand opening was over seen by mayor of Ely Will Burton and town crier Avril Hayter-Smith.
Kinge said: “People have really liked the shop, liquorice and fizzy snakes have been particularly popular.”
