There was a real buzz of activity at Bartrams Ely Mobility Centre this week as it held an open Spring/Summer shoe & slipper event, in association with Sandpiper Shoes.
The store, based at Lancaster Way Business Park, welcomed a wide mix of both regular and new visitors. Everyone attending was able to enjoy complimentary tea and cake, alongside a free professional footwear fitting assessment service, provided by Sandpiper’s Senior Partner Andrew Railton.
There was also free entry into a raffle to win a gift voucher, as well as a charity luck dip to aid Bartrams fundraising initiatives for the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
Naomi Sherwood, Bartrams Mobility Centre Manager, said: “Extra wide and problematic feet can be so difficult to find corrective and supportive footwear for, particularly with the elderly in mind.
“It was a pleasure to have Mr. Railton on hand to pass on his expert knowledge during the assessments. We are keen to develop these assessment services in the future, with a view to branching out similar events to local care homes and other mobility related organisations.”
