Towns across East Cambridgeshire are taking part in this year’s national Independent Retailer campaign.
Ely, Soham and Littleport are all getting involved in the initiative that aims to highlight the role that independent retailers play in their respective communities, as well as the local economy and wider retail sector.
To showcase the district’s small businesses, the Town Teams of Ely, Soham and Littleport, organised by Visit Ely and in conjunction with Ely Chamber of Commerce, have been running a social media campaign which was launched on July 4 and runs for the whole month.
A variety of businesses will be featured though a series of promotions and competitions.
Councillor David Ambrose-Smith said: “This is the perfect chance to find out more about our great independent offer as well as discover facts that you may not know as part of the “Getting to know you” information cards which are being posted on our Facebook Pages and are already reaching a wide audience.”
