SOHAM and Ely businessman Johnathan James has been appointed vice-chairman of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS).
Mr James, who has been a member of the association for a number of years said he was delighted at the appointment at a special ceremony in London last week.
"I'm in a great position now to see what's going on nationally and then implement changes at local level," he said.
The recent report into supermarket competition was motivated by a NACS member so we have a lot of influence."
Mr James runs Budgens in Soham and a number of BP service stations in the area.
