ELY'S children are getting fit thanks to a new Tumble Tots programme which began at the Lighthouse Centre last month.

Skills for Life classes which run on Friday mornings, are separated into age groups. For children who can walk confidently - up to two years old - parents are encouraged to help them climb, jump and learn to roll. For two to three-year olds, Tumble Tots' activity stations and trained staff enable children to gain physical skills and an awareness of co-ordination.

Classes for three-year-olds to school age children focus on control, coordination and agility.

"The importance of physical activity at an early age is paramount for our children to develop into healthy and active adults. It also provides the perfect opportunity to mix with other children, learn to socialise and make friends," said Karen Sivyer, who runs Tumble Tots' Ely classes.

INFO: Classes run on every Friday at the Lighthouse Centre auditorium, Downham Road, at various times from 9.30am. Classes can be booked online at www.tumbletots.com with trials available. Prices start at £5.75 per class.

For more information contact Karen Sivyer on 01353 661255.
