Pupils as young as six were inspired by artists such as Matisse and Wayne Thiebaud during a series of art and sculpture workshops at King’s Ely Senior this week.

The workshops gave children in Acremont an opportunity to experience the wide range of art courses available in the senior section of the school.

All of the studios are equipped with a range of facilities and materials, enabling the pupils to produce imaginative and creative pieces of art, including t-shirt designs, gift boxes, puppets and a collage.

Director of art at King’s Ely Senior, Alison Rhodes, said: “This was a wonderful opportunity for our Acremont pupils to explore the areas of fashion, textiles and fine art alongside the use of sculptural effects. It was a very rewarding experience for all concerned.”
