The residents of the Fleet Close and Anchor Court sheltered housing complex in Ely held a coffee morning with a difference last Thursday.
The coffee and cakes raised about £50 for Macmillan Cancer Support but resident Brenda Batch volunteered to go one step further by undergoing the ice bucket challenge.
The only condition was that residents had to donate £5 each and the stunt proved so popular a further £140 was raised.
