A LITTLEPORT woman bravely volunteered to have her head shaved this week as a gesture of solidarity with a friend who is being treated for breast cancer.

Zoe Hanslip had her head shaved at Mess and Ems hair salon in the town on Tuesday, and has raised more than £400 in sponsorship, which will be donated to the Oncology Unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Nicky Jugg, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy at the unit, said she was full of admiration for her friend.

"She was going to have it all shaved but I know what that's like, so I said don't have it all off!"
