STUDENTS and staff at Ely College braved the barber’s clippers on Friday to raise money for a cause very close to their hearts.
The group, led by Charlotte Fuller, shown here with the clippers, were touched by the story of a young cancer patient, living in East Cambridgeshire, and decided to raise funds to help with his rehabilitation following chemotherapy.
In the space of an hour, students Joshua Garner and Max Weare had been cropped, together with teachers Jaz Turner and Sam Browning, with nearly £200 collected by other students, including Jade Hines.
Ben Gibbs, a governor at the college, said: “These students showed great initiative and compassion in organising this fundraiser, and should be as proud of themselves as I am.”
