A brass bell has been stolen from a church in Witchford.

Officers are appealing for information following the theft from St Andrew’s Church in Main Street.

The incident happened between 12pm on January 15 and 10am on January 28.

History of St Andrew Church

The church, which consists of chancel, nave, north porch, and west tower, is part of The Grunty Fen Group of Churches.

Other churches in the group are Holy Trinity Haddenham, St Peter’s Wilburton and St Peter’s Wentworth.

The group was created in 2008, when the benefice of Haddenham and Wilburton joined with the benefice of Witchford and Wentworth.

Revd. Canon Fiona Brampton is the vicar of Haddenham and Wilburton and priest in charge of Wentworth and Witchford.

The Abbot of Ely held Witchford in 1086.
