THE police helicopter was scrambled after members of the public discovered the body of a man in Ely at the weekend.
Cambridgeshire police confirmed on Wednesday morning that 23-year-old Toby Thorn had been discovered by walkers at about 3.30pm on Sunday in a field adjacent to Lynn Road.
The police helicopter was called in to survey the scene and the area was immediately cordoned off as officers and forensic teams moved in.
According to a spokesman for Cambridgeshire police the death is not being treated as suspicious and the body of the 23-year-old student was handed over to the coroner.
Though the cause of death is yet to be ascertained, an inquest will be opened by the coroner for north and east Cambridgeshire, William Morris, on Thursday
