Scouts Matthew Campbell-McBride and George Palmer can't wait to try out their new canoes bought after a fantastic £4,000 fund-raising effort.
The boys and fellow members of the 2nd Soham troop have just taken delivery of 11 new canoes after their efforts were supported by £2,000 from the Holly and Jessica Fund and other donations from Rotarians, Waitrose and the Soham Carnival Committee among others.
Now the boats will be put to the test at the end of June when the scouts paddle 20 miles from Newnham to Soham during a weekend canoe camp.
