Ely’s annual Open Garden event returns this month.
Held under the banner of the National Garden Scheme, the national events have helped raise £2.7 million for nine charities including MacMillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie, and the local event will see six Ely gardens opened to the public.
12 and 16 Chapel Street, 42 Cambridge Road, 50a Prickwillow Road, The Bishop’s House and the Deanery will all be open on Sunday (11) from 2pm until 6pm, and will offer a variety of gardening styles and interests.
Ken Ellis, gardens co-ordinator, said: “If you’re interested in gardens, or even if you’re not, come and have a look at how people enjoy their gardens.
“If you’re willing to considering opening in the future – it doesn’t have to be Chelsea standard - email ken.ellis1@yahoo.com or come and visit me at 12 Chapel Street.”
