A charity that supports people who lose loved ones in road deaths has a new patron, the Bishop of Ely, the Right Reverend Stephen Conway.

The Road Victims Trust is a small local charity that provides emotional support to anybody affected by a road death in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

Mark Turner, chief executive of the Road Victims Trust, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Bishop to the Road Victims Trust.

“The service he delivered last year showed a genuine empathy and understanding for the plight of those bereaved on the road. A fact commented upon by many families.”

Each year the Trust support more than 500 people who are affected by up to 85 deaths a year on the roads of the three counties.
