A SOHAM resident has raised more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Jenny Webster, from Northfield Road, decided to forgo presents for her 60th birthday celebration at Soham Village College, and asked the assembled 200 guests to donate to the UK's leading cancer charity. It is a cause close to Mrs Webster's heart - her husband Jerry died two years ago from cancer.
Mrs Webster added the sum of £1,120.50 to £800 already raised through St Andrew's Church, where she is a member of the congregation. She would like to thank all those who gave generously.
