King's School Ely Upper Sixth students entered the British Biology Olympiad, an annual competition for sixth formers organised by the Institute of Biology. It aims to challenge and stimulate gifted students and encourage them to continue studying the subject beyond A-level.

Annie Coleridge was rewarded with a silver medal - which puts her among the top 200 students in the UK - and Kieran Zausmer, Maia Tanner and Steven Vassiloudis achieved bronze medals which puts them in the top 400.

All four have been invited to an award ceremony at Imperial College in June to be presented with their medals by Professor Steve Jones, the eminent geneticist.
