YOUNG people in Littleport have been given the chance to become show stopping stars.
Grants have been awarded to 25 young people totalling nearly £8,000 to put on a production for next year's Littleport Show.
Cllr Brian Hayes, who is a member of the parish council's Youth Steering Group, praised the hard work of the county council's youth services members Mick Oliver and Amanda Warman in securing the money from the Cambridge Youth Community fund. They also had some input from the youngsters. Some of those involved had been ordered to carry out unpaid work in the community by the courts.
The money will be held in a separate account by the parish council, which will then bankroll the project. The rehearsals will start at the beginning of November at the old Regal Cinema.
