BEREAVED dad Michael Richardson was caught speeding along the same stretch of road six times within a week.
Appearing at Ely courthouse on Thursday, Richardson escaped a driving ban, but was left with a total of 18 points endorsed on his licence.
Richardson, 43, explained to the court that he committed the offences around the time his daughter had been due to be born, she was still born five months earlier.
He broke the 40mph speed limit on the A142 at Chatteris on six occasions between July 9 and 15.
"I should have booked some holiday or gone to see a doctor," he said. I was thinking of her more than anything else. I have let everyone down."
Richardson, of St John's Close, Needingworth, was fined £360 with £35 costs and a £15 surcharge.
