THE service began with words from the Bible, read by Jim. Joy welcomed everyone and gave out the notices. Musicians were Joyce, Alan and Bob. Happy Birthday was then sung to Fred, Sid and Edna, The first hymn was sung and then Jim said prayers for the people of Africa. Prayers were also said for the persecution of Christians in many parts of the world. Sympathy was expressed to Bob, Hazel and family for their bereavement. A sketch followed, with Myra, Elizabeth and Stuart and it showed the many stresses of everyday living.
Jim gave all of the children a keyring and each one had text on it, relating to the 40 days of Purpose. Rachel was then presented with a Bible on reaching the age of eight years and this was followed up with the collection being taken by Rachel and Daniel. The service closed with prayer and singing. The final blessing came with the saying of Grace.
