THE family service began with Jim welcoming everyone and giving out the notices. Musicians for the day were Bob, David, Eddie and Jackie. The singing was led by Anne. Myra did a very good job of leading the children into their family worship, beginning with the puppets, Polly and Tim, leading into a sketch about the decorating of their room and how, if you cut corners, it goes very wrong. Myra encouraged the children to come and help her for the actions of the story of building a house upon the rock and another one built on the sand. Sara and George took up the offering and Jim gave thanks for the £700 raised last week, to be sent to the people of Burma.

Next, a sketch from Myra and Joy, again about building houses, and the children took great delight in knocking the house that Joy had built down, showing that hers was built in the sand and not meant to last. Gabrielle then read from the Bible, Luke chap: 2 vv 41-51, about Jesus in the temple. Myra then gave out prizes to the children who had been so willing to help, and she closed the service with a prayer and Anne singing.
