THE first service of the new year began with a Covenant service conducted by the minister rev Jim Mullin. Everyone wished everybody a happy new year and Happy Birthday was sung to little Alice.

Musicians for the day were David, Eddie, Bob and Jackie, with Anne leading the singing. Prayers were said at the beginning of the service, followed by the singing of the first hymn, as the offering was taken up by Rachel and Daniel.

Jim gave thanks for the offering and said prayers for the children, and the congregation made their Covenant of confession. Don then read from Jeremiah Chap 34 vv 31-34. After the declaration of faith by the congregation, we sang, "Great is Thy Faithfulness." Jim then read from Ephesians Chap 4 vv 17-34 and it was from this passage that he took as the theme for his sermon as, "Out with the Old and in with the New."

After more singing we read the last part of the Covenant together. The service closed with Holy Communion and Pauline lead us into prayer, closing with the Lord's Prayer and the singing of, "When the Music fades".
