Afternoon of music and cake as The Band of Hope bring cheer to Ely

A toe-tapping afternoon with tea and cake was had by all as The Band of Hope entertained a village hall in Ely.
The comedy cabaret band, who are well known for their extravagant performances of hits from the 1920s and 30s, took to the stage at the Queen Adelaide Hall.
The annual event yesterday afternoon (May 13) featured tea and home-made cakes, with Mayor and Mayoress Cllr Richard Hobbs and Pat Hobbs in attendance.
Cllr Hobbs said: “Great afternoon of music, tea and wonderful cakes. Should have left at 4.30pm but Pat and I was enjoying the whole experience and stay till the end.
“Many thanks to Tony and the Band of Hope for the invite and congratulations to those that look after the well kept Queen Adelaide village hall a great venue.”
Three guests from King’s Ely School also played two sets of the second line.
The afternoon ran from 3pm to 5.30pm.
