Local author and historian Mike Rouse will be signing copies of his latest book which explores the fascinating history of the city he grew up in.
‘The Story of Ely’ recalls pivotal events which have shaped the city’s past, as well as exploring its architectural development and heritage.
The illustrated book brings to life Ely’s history, from its annual fairs and the war years to powerful bishops and famous residents.
Councillor Rouse, who has penned over 30 books, will launch ‘The Story of Ely’ at a private event on Thursday September 8, before signing copies at the city’s oldest established bookshop, Burrows, on Saturday September 10.
