A WOMAN who launched unprovoked and violent attacks on three females in one evening has been jailed for 42 days. Susan Statham, 22, attacked skating coach Clare Tuck at the Paradise Sports Centre in the early part of the evening of April 11 and then moved her attentions to two 15-year-old school girls who were walking through Jubilee Gardens.

Statham went to the Paradise Centre and demanded to speak to two of the young skaters. When Miss Tuck refused to allow her into the changing room, Statham said: "Do you know who I am" and head-butted her. She then charged at Miss Tuck, knocking her into a changing room, grabbing her air and wrapping her legs around her neck. The centre's duty manager Kevin Sizer suffered a broken wrist after trying to pull Statham off Miss Tuck.

Later the same evening, Statham was walking through Jubilee Gardens when she saw the two teenage girls and began shouting at them. She knocked one of the girls to the ground, and kicked her repeatedly. The other girl was punched in the jaw. The girls made a run for it and sheltered in a nearby fish and chip shop where the owner called the police.

Statham, of Jimmy's Night Shelter, denied head-butting Clare Tuck and the attack on the two girls, and also breaching her ASBO, but was convicted of assault in her absence when she failed to attend her trial. A warrant was issued for her arrest and she was given a 42-day sentence for the attacks on April 11 at Cambridge Magistrates' Court.
