An East Cambridgeshire phonebox has been given another seasonal makeover.
The Phone Box Gallery on Main Street in Prickwillow has been decorated monthly since it was bought by villager Nick Edell for £1 in 2010 – and this month, local sculptor Cary Outis and textile expert Magenta Kang have been hard at work installing an angel on its roof.
And it’s not the first time that the phone box has been decked out in festive style. It was transformed into a tinsel-covered bauble in 2014 and was wrapped in paper and a bow in 2012.
“We are hoping that this phone box – an iconic English space – will capture community imagination and we’re already very excited about the level of enthusiasm the idea has received,” said Nick after buying the phone box seven years ago.
The metal Christmas angel will be in the village until December 31.
