AWARD-winning novelist Ali Smith will appear at Topping, in Ely, on April 26, to talk about her latest novel.

Smith won the Whitbread Novel of the Year in 2005 for The Accidental and will be at the High Street booksellers on Wednesday (26) to discuss the book.

Jo Rutherford, at Topping, said: "Events with Ali are few and far between, so this is a rare chance to meet her and listen to her talk about what we at Topping and Company Booksellers feel was the best work of fiction of 2005."

Set in Norfolk, The Accidental follows a Cambridge family on holiday who are visited by the beautiful and enigmatic Amber, who involves herself in each of their lives.

INFO: Tickets for the event, at 7.15pm, are £5 (redeemable against one copy of the book purchased on the evening). Wine reception.
