FOURTEEN people accused of failing to fill in their electoral registration forms were due to be prosecuted by East Cambridgeshire District Council on Thursday.
But because the court ran out of time, all the cases were adjourned for three weeks, and are due back before the city magistrates on October 19.
"It is an offence not to provide the information," said council legal assistant Sian Scanlon. "But the council is only interested in getting the information, so if people provide it, we can withdraw the prosecution."
She said that district residents must fill in a form to show who resides at each property. The completed list is only used by local government, and anyone wanting to keep their name off the published list can indicate that by ticking a box on the form.
