Active Kids is back at Sainsbury’s Ely. Customers can collect vouchers in store from until May 5 to help registered schools, groups and clubs across Ely receive active and cooking equipment, and experiences.

Staff kicked off the event with a visit to the Isle of Ely School which is newly registered to the scheme this year. The new school which is currently located at a temporary site is hoping the Active Kids scheme will boost its supplies of equipment to use in PE lessons.

Pupils were presented with some extra vouchers from the staff at the Ely store to help them get started.

Karen Watts, store manager, said: “The Active Kids scheme is a brilliant way for our colleagues to get involved with schools, groups and clubs in our local area. We love visiting local organisations and seeing the benefits the equipment and experiences have brought to the children.”

The scheme, which is celebrating its 10th birthday, is supported by double Paralympic gold medal-winner Ellie Simmonds, world record breaking sprinter Jonnie Peacock and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge. The three ambassadors are committed to encouraging children to eat well, move well and live well.
