A WARM welcome is guaranteed at Mepal Village Hall after two cash awards meant villagers could install a new heating boiler and up-to-date controls. The cash came from WREN, which distributes tax credits from landfill operators and from Community Leader funded from the Government and the European Union.

Village hall committee chairman, Peter Edwards, said: "The hall is an important meeting place for the local community, young and not-so-young, and it is vital that we are able to heat it at affordable cost.
