An empty railway house in Queen Adelaide is set to be demolished later this summer.
And Network Rail have asked East Cambridgeshire District Council whether or not they need prior approval for the method used to knock it down.
Ely Crossing House in Ely Road is described by Network Rail as a ‘redundant building’ and they plan to demolish it in September if all goes according to plan.
No reason is given for the demolition in the letter sent by Network Rail’s town planner Daniel Chalk asking for the council’s advice on whether or not permission is needed.
