A group of teachers and parents raised £2,000 by taking part in the Grunty Fen half marathon.
They were running in aid of Highfield School, Ely, which teaches children with additional educational needs.
Head teacher Simon Bainbridge encouraged sponsorship by saying he would run wearing a pink tutu if £1,000 was raised. He kept his promise as the total rose to £2,013. Teacher Danny Mills raised money by asking pupils to design a crazy hairstyle and beard - they shaved the sides of his head and dyed his hair pink during a school assembly before the race.
Money raised will help purchase interactive white boards to help children within their classrooms. Donations will still be gratefully received at www.virginmoney.comGiving by typing ‘Danny Mill’s into the ‘Sponsor a friend’ field.
Highfield Friends and Parents Association would like to thank everyone who supported and sponsored Team Highfield.
