THIS year's Pymoor Show takes place on Saturday and there is a packed time-table for the hundreds of people who are expected to visit the event.

Organisers say the event, now in its seventh year, will have even more main ring events (see running order below) more exhibitors, country crafts and food halls than ever before.

NO TICKETS FOR THE WORLD CUP IN GERMANY?

Pymoor Show has the answer - see England beat Portugal on a big screen in the social club.

Dogs' Day Out

This year the organisers are asking the visitors to bring their dogs to the show because there are two items aimed strictly at dogs and their owners. Taking place throughout the day will be a scurry where the dogs are timed over a 25-metre dash, jumping straw bales. Terrier racing will be a main ring event open to all dogs not just terriers. So if you think your dog is the fastest thing on four legs, why not take up the challenge. Don't forget your pooper scoopers.

Fur, Feather and Fleece

2006 sees a slight change in direction with the inclusion of a marquee housing rare breeds, Cambridge Pigeon Fanciers, a pets' corner with rabbits and guinea pigs. Outside, there will be the traditional large animal displays with cattle, pony and foal, sheep, pigs, alpacas, llamas and poultry.

Headlining in the arena are:

Billy Baxter and Ted the Clydesdale horse - Billy Baxter from Haddenham, who lost his sight while serving with the British Army in Bosnia, will be riding Ted the Clydesdale, of children's book fame. Billy is the current holder of the Motorbike Land Speed Record (for a blind person) after reaching a speed of 164.87 mph.

The English School of Falconry will be giving a birds of prey flying demonstration. The birds will also be on display, in the livestock area when not flying, to enable children to see them close up and to ask the handlers any questions.

Gun Dogs Demonstration - Robin Lord will be attending with his dogs to show how they are trained and a demonstration of working shoot dogs.

Keeping it all together and filling the gaps as show compere will be Sue Marchant - local presenter from BBC Radio Cambridgeshire with the help of Big Edna.

Clay Shoot

This year's shoot will be held on Lane Farm, courtesy of Mr and Mrs Golding. As well as the experienced shooters, there will be an opportunity for novices and beginners to have a go, as there will be trained and qualified shooters on site to give any tuition needed.

There will also be an opportunity to purchase locally produced country fayre in the food hall.

Children have not been forgotten either, not only is there a pets corner and lots of animals and birds, but there are also rides, bouncy castle and assault course, target football and target golf.

The vintage rally is promising to be even larger than ever with tractors, cars, motorbikes and commercials and supporting these will be three 'live' steam engines. During the afternoon there will be a parade of the vintage vehicles to let visitors see them in their full glory.

Attention all farmers. Entries for the Ear of Wheat Competition need to be handed to Norman Golding in the Craft Marquee by 12.45pm.
