SOHAM Rotary Club marked a special birthday on Wednesday when the ‘father’ of the club, Ken Thompson, celebrated his 90th birthday with a dinner at the Cherry Tree pub.

Former Mosquito pilot, teacher, head master, university lecturer as well as music enthusiast and astronomy buff, Ken was surprised by the unexpected arrival of his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Ann, John and Eva Lindsay and a cake.

Club president Iain Sutherland presented Ken with an engraved glass bowl to mark the occasion.
