A MOTORIST caught driving at 101mph after receiving a call from his terminally ill mother was banned from driving for 30 days by Ely magistrates on Thursday.
Learner driver Marek Pajak , of Kingsway, Mildenhall, was also fined £170 with £35 costs.
He had committed the offence when driving a vehicle along the A14 at Bottisham on October 3 last year.
"His mother had telephoned him to say she felt extremely unwell, and asked him to visit her," explained solicitor Claire Bennett. "So his speed was not his primary consideration at the time.
