Cambridgeshire food reviewer Lucy Melton shares her thoughts following a recent visit to Rudy's in Cambridge

When Rudy’s came to Cambridge at the end of last year I was so happy and I had to go and check it out straight away.

I'd always heard good things about Rudy's and it lived up to the hype.

The pizzas are amazing and made from fresh ingredients including San Marzano tomatoes and fior di latte mozzarella imported from Sicily- so you know it's going to be good!

The dough is fermented for 24+ hours with Caputo ‘00’ flour, this makes an incredibly tasty base and great crusts.

I went for the special Cal-Italia with gorgonzola, asiago cheese, prosciutto and fig jam.

The gorgonzola was so good and all the flavours were perfect together.

I tried my friend's Triple Pepperoni, a signature pizza from Rudy's with stracciatella and chilli honey on top.

This was absolutely delicious and on my next visit I will have this.

We tried a couple of dips.. The garlic mayo was amazing and had a really strong garlic taste which I loved and I also really enjoyed the chilli honey dip, perfect mix of sweet & spice!

For dessert we shared the brownie, this was really good, served warm so it was squidgy and perfect with the ice cream.

We also sampled a few of the Rudy's house softs, these were all really sweet & had great flavour, we loved them.

We tried the bramble berry spritz, the pesca mandarina and the cloudy apple & cherry spritz; I can’t pick a favourite as I thought they were all excellent.

You definitely need to visit here, it's a great place to go with family and friends, a good sized restaurant and lovely staff as well!

The restaurant is located at 6 St Andrew’s Street, a great central location perfect for your next visit into the city.
