A Cambridgeshire police sergeant allegedly behaved in a "misogynistic" and "sexist" manner towards a female colleague.
PS Jason Langford is due to face a hearing between May 27 and May 29 over allegations that he breached the standards of professional behaviour to the level of gross misconduct.
It is alleged that between June 2024 and January 2025, PS Langford behaved towards and spoke to a female colleague in a manner that reveals embedded misogynistic, sexist and discriminatory attitudes.
According to Cambridgeshire Constabulary, the alleged behaviour often occurred in front of other colleagues which further promotes a culture of misogyny and sexism.
The force also said the alleged behaviour "evidences an entrenched discriminatory attitude towards women police officers".
PS Langford is alleged to have breached the following standards: Authority, Respect and Courtesy, Equality and Diversity, and Discreditable Conduct.
The Authority, Respect and Courtesy standard of professional behaviour requires amongst other things that police officers act with tolerance, treating colleagues with respect and courtesy.
The Equality and Diversity standard of professional behaviour requires that police officers act with fairness and impartiality and do not discriminate unlawfully or unfairly.
The Discreditable Conduct standard of professional behaviour requires that police officers behave in a manner which does not discredit the police service or undermine public confidence it it, whether on or off duty.
The hearing is set to take place in person at Lysander House, in Tempsford, Bedfordshire.
