A family friendly venue with coffee shop, restaurant and bar all rolled into one has been hailed the "coolest place" in Ely by visitors.

The Yard is tucked away on Newnham Street and was described as the city's "latest treat" when it opened.

Silver Oak Coffee, Ely's independent coffee roastery owned by Susanne Stent and Bruce Garside, opened the venue in March 2023.

More than 600 guests poured into the "gorgeous" new venue when it opened, which is spread over five shipping containers.

It features a children’s play area, coffee shop, restaurant, bar and outdoor seating area and was designed as a space that "brings people together".

On its website, The Yard proudly describes itself as a "proper independent venue run by people who care about every detail, from the playlist to the pour".
