A village pub is hoping to become the "destination of choice" for punters in and around Cambridge after it reopened following a four-week makeover.

The Plough in Fen Ditton has been given a remarkable new look, with a stylishly restored bar, plush, inviting seating and a rejuvenated dining room.

The beer garden has also been refreshed ahead of the glorious summer months, while an upgraded outside beer and new pizza shack make it the place to be when the sun is shining.

"We're delighted to welcome both familiar faces and first-time visitors to the beautifully refreshed Plough," said said general manager Stacey Norwood-Gregory.

"We want the pub to be the go-to place in Fen Ditton this summer, whether it's enjoying a drink in the sunshine, watching the bumps boat races or enjoying a meal while overlooking the river.

"With our brand-new look and menu we hope guests will make us their destination of choice time and time again."

The Plough's menu celebrates the best of British pub dining, including indulgent favourites such as pan-roasted lamb rump, asparagus and squash orzo and tarragon-battered line-caught haddock with thick-cut chips.

There are also decadent desserts such as home-baked chocolate brownie, Timperley rhubarb and apple crumble, and the classic tiramisu.

Customers can enjoy some great offers, like the pub's fixed-price Weeknight Escape menu from Monday to Thursday, with two courses starting from £22.95.

Those seeking lighter bites can take advantage of the set lunch menu from 12pm-5pm Monday to Friday, with two courses starting from £21.95.

"Whether it's enjoying 2 for £16 cocktails with friends, a leisurely Sunday sharing roast experience for two with a loved one, or a well-deserved midweek indulgence with the weeknight escape menu, guests can expect a warm, elegant atmosphere designed for relaxed socialising, sipping their favourite drink and good food," an statement from the pub read.

The refurbishment has also brought positive impact to the Fen Ditton community, creating 6 new roles with a mix of front of house and kitchen staff being employed.
