Cambridgeshire food reviewer Lucy Melton shares her thoughts on The Carpenters Arms in Cambridge

A little while ago I had a night out with some fellow Cambridge foodies at The Carpenters Arms in Cambridge, who kindly invited us along to try a selection of their menu.

We got to try so many different dishes, which was exciting.

The pizzas were a highlight for me - they were a good size and tasted great.

My favourite was the ‘Aloha’ with ham hock and pineapple. I loved it; to me, pineapple definitely belongs on a pizza.

The 'Hot Mess' was really tasty - nduja and ricotta with hot honey, it had quite a kick but I enjoyed it.

We also had the 'Burger Boy' which they made vegan for us. All the pizzas can be made vegetarian/vegan with just a few tweaks, which I think is great!

The other dishes we shared were loaded tater tots, which were so crispy and fluffy with a tasty pesto and garlic topping.

The bbq cauliflower wings were some of the best I've had. They were actually soft, which was great, and smothered in the sauce!

The honey sriracha chicken wings were too spicy for me, but it was good chicken.

I really enjoyed the lasagne as well (made vegan). It has a really good tomato sauce.

My favourite was the mac 'n' cheese with bacon. It had an incredible cheese pull, plenty of flavour and was a good-sized dish.

We also had the picky bits sharing board. I loved the pulled BBQ brisket and the corn ribs - they were so yummy.

They do a great job of giving everything a really good flavour and I enjoyed all the dishes I tried!

This is a really cool pub with an amazing atmosphere. They have live sports playing and they also have live music.

It is a perfect place to hang out with friends!
