Cambridgeshire could see brief but 'blizzard like' snow this weekend according to weather forecasters.

Weather25.com, which uses "state of the art forecasting technologies" and official meteorological data, is predicting that snow will fall in the county on Friday, February 13, at around 9am.

By 12pm through to 3pm, the snow is expected to turn 'blizzard-like' but will clear up by 6pm.

The forecasters predict that at 9pm, there will be moderator or heavy snow showers across Cambridgeshire.

Saturday, February 14, is clear with no snow predicted.

However, by Sunday, February 15, light snow is due to start at 6am and turn 'blizzard-like' at 9am.

By midday it is expected to turn into rain.

The website states: "Our weather forecast is based on state of the art forecasting technologies, which update the forecast every few minutes for a precise location."

However, the Met Office is not currently forecasting snow for Cambridgeshire over the weekend.

It instead predicts light rain and drizzles.

The Met Office forecast may still change, and its long-range outlook does mention the possibility of colder conditions and some snow across the country.
