A touch of stardom lit up the stage during panto season.

TV and theatre icon Liza Goddard delighted audiences in Soham when she joined the cast for the final weekend of Viva Theatre's festive production of Beauty and the Beast.

Ms Goddard, who serves as president of Viva, attended the family pantomime for an afternoon of laughter and entertainment.

A spokesperson for Viva said: "It always means so much to the cast and creative team to have such a respected and much-loved figure from stage and screen come along to support the production, and to see her smiling and clapping along with the rest of the audience was priceless."

The show, featuring TOWIE star Ricky Rayment, has earned praise for its vibrant staging, dazzling costumes, and talented cast.

Ms Goddard’s visit brought “extra sparkle” to the already popular pantomime.

If anyone missed out on tickets to the Soham performances, Beauty and the Beast continues its run at Haverhill Arts Centre until New Year’s Eve.

The show promises music, comedy, and audience participation for all ages.
