Lyn of Littleport highlights some of the popular local pastimes in the town.
You can play carpet bowls at the Littleport Ex-Services and Social Club on Wednesdays from 10am to 12pm. "Come and join us for a game or just watch others play," say organisers.
Also, on Thursdays at Littleport Village Hall (kept clean to perfection by the hall committee’s chair Nick Brown – a worthy successor to his dad Francis) from 7.30-9pm.

Bingo is another firm favourite and locals are spoilt for choice this month with Littleport Fire Station’s fundraiser on Tuesday December 16 at Littleport Village Hall, Victoria Street, Littleport, CB6 1LX.
Doors open at 6pm for eyes-down at 7pm. £10 per set of bingo books, and there will be a raffle.
There's also bingo at the Ex-Services on Ponts Hill, CB6 1PZ, on Wednesday, December 17. Eyes-down at 7.30pm.
There’s a special bingo night at Black Horse Drove Community Centre on Friday, December 12 from 7.30pm - address is 48 Black Horse Drove, Littleport, ELY CB6 1EG. £10 per book for 10 tickets.

With Christmas festivities underway, there’s Breakfast with Santa at Littleport Leisure Centre on Thursday, December 18 from 9.30-11.30am.
The organisers say “join us for a magical morning of soft play, festive craft and brunch with a special visit from Santa.
Enjoy a pancake for breakfast, decorating a Christmas cookie and photo with Santa himself plus a special gift.”

Last Saturday at the leisure centre, the Christmas fundraiser by the Ely Roller Skating Club was a roaring success.
The Christmas show showcased the talent of its members to great effect.
At the Littleport Ex-Services on Saturday night there is a private event – presentations are being made for the Ely Roller Skating Club.
The next big one for the club is the Thursday afternoon music club with DJ Derek on Thursday, December 18, from 2-4pm at £2 per person and a good time is always had by all.
Christmas festivities continue at The Crown Inn on Saturday night (December 13) with Soul Fusion. Entry is free and it promises to be good music you can boogie to from 8pm onwards.
