A new bereavement café is set to launch in East Cambridgeshire thanks to a £5,000 grant.
The Viva Arts and Community Group has announced the opening of 'Good Grief Soham!' at the Viva Theatre.
The project, funded by Tees Law’s Better Future scheme, aims to be an inclusive space for anyone who would like support with their grief.
Good Grief Soham will launch on Tuesday, October 7, at the Viva Theatre, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
Laura Cox- Watson, a facilitator at the group, said: "We are really hoping that Good Grief Soham will provide an opportunity for those affected by grief to forge connections within their local community and feel less alone in what they are going through.
"Our aim is to offer a non-judgmental listening ear and ensure all ages and backgrounds feel welcome and supported."

The project has been funded by Tees Law’s Better Future scheme, which was set up to promote initiatives that nurture talent, improve mental health, promote social mobility, and create opportunities for people to thrive.
Janine Collier, co-head of ESG at Tees, said: “Viva’s proposal for Good Grief offers a compassionate space for people to talk about something that affects us all but is often avoided.
“Viva’s approach promotes emotional wellbeing, resilience, and intergenerational understanding; values that align powerfully with the goals of the Tees Better Future Fund.”
“The project builds on Viva’s existing community work and addresses local interest in end-of-life topics following their past productions exploring similar themes.
“Sessions will be inclusive and accessible, with expert facilitators guiding discussions in a non-judgmental atmosphere.”
The first session will be an informal drop-in with refreshments. It is open to all ages.
