An inquest has been opened into the death of a "loving husband and father" who was killed on an A-road in Cambridgeshire.
William Doherty, from Littleport, died in a crash on the A10 between Stretham and Chittering at around 7.10am on August 15.
Area coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Simon Milburn opened the 53-year-old's inquest on Thursday (September 11) at Peterborough Town Hall.
The brief hearing heard how Mr Doherty's death was confirmed at the scene by paramedics after his Mini was involved in a collision between a Seat, a Jaguar and a lorry.
A passenger in the Mini was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, in Cambridge, with serious injuries.

Adam Bates, 23, of Juniper Drive, Chatteris, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving without insurance.
He appeared at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on August 16 where he was remanded in custody to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on September 15.
Mr Doherty's family paid an emotional tribute to the father-of-three, adding his "memory lives on".
Mr Milburn recorded a provisional cause of death of "multiple injuries" and suspended the inquest "pending further police prosecution."
