Vera James House in Ely marked VJ Day with a tribute from the deputy lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Sue Freestone OBE.

She addressed residents, staff, and family members at the event, which featured a cream tea and live music by Cara.

Beverley Murray, the home manager, stated how important it was to commemorate the day and expressed her pleasure at welcoming Mrs Freestone back.

Mrs Freestone, who has been a regular visitor, was appreciated for her ongoing support.
