England abounds with sports clubs and sporting opportunities in general, often based at local sport and leisure facilities.
Littleport was one of the first councils to embrace the new sport and leisure centre building initiatives back in 1976 and showed even more commitment to Littleport’s sporting health and wellbeing when it rebuilt a more modern one on the same site in Camel Road in 2017.
Whether recreational or competitive sports activities are your bag, there’s something for everyone there – and of every age!
Littleport Parkrun chose it as its venue in July 2018 and has never looked back.
It’s also home to the Ely Roller Skating Club.
Littleport Lions Korfball Club also uses the main sports hall.
Coaches Andrew Dunlop, Laura Farnell and Alex Andrews, are offering free Korfball sessions for all new players: 8-9.30pm Tuesdays August 5,12,19,26.
They always train Tuesdays and compete in home matches on Fridays.
Korfball is non-contact and both sexes play in the same teams.
The season starts in October.
Usual cost £5 per session or £15 monthly.
Littleport Table Tennis Club meets every Thursday, from 7-9pm.
Also on Thursdays, the Badminton Club has four courts.
There are many other clubs and activities.

Another Littleport Council plan for a new skate park and 200-metre track for inline skaters in the Paddocks next to the Youth and Community Centre, was launched in July to be completed by 2027.
Fans of more sedentary pursuits can take their crafting projects along to share and work on, or learn a new skill with specialist crafters, at Adams Heritage Centre 17 Main Street.
Littleport Crafters meet from 2-4pm on the first and third Saturdays of the month.
