Re-imagine at Witchford Recycling Centre wins national award

Re-imagine, which is based at the Witchford Recycling Centre, was recognised in the Newsquest-backed Clean and Green awards for its efforts to promote sustainability and creativity.

The charity, which has been running since 2013, collects waste materials that businesses typically discard and repurposes them for community use.

Its mission is two-fold: to conserve existing resources and to provide affordable art, craft, and play materials to those who need them.

These initiatives support many families in Ely and surrounding villages by offering fresh surplus food collected from supermarkets.

The charity also created the UK's first surplus food meal kit.

A Re-imagine spokesperson said: "We were so thrilled to have been the winner at the awards and would like the opportunity to share more about the essential work we do for the planet."

Re-imagine has been located at the Witchford Recycling Centre for 12 years, continuously finding creative ways to contribute to environmental conservation.
